Measurement of Surface Area of Body and Organ of Eearly Chick Embryo by Technique of Serial Section

Abstract
|
|
|
The surface area of each cross sectioned preparation made by technique of serial section were calculated with Simpson´s approximate integration to obtain the whole body surface area and the results were obtained as followings.
1) Whole body surface area of 5 days incubated chick embryo was 101.010㎟.
2) Body surface area measured from 57 serial sectioned preparations with Simpson´s approximate integration can be used under 0.5% of error compared with the one which measured from 913 serial sectioned preparations.
